Call for Healthcare Professionals: National Healthcare Disaster Certification
ANCC, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious credentialing organizations, invites healthcare professionals to assist in the development of the National Healthcare Disaster Certification.
This professional credential is designed to assure employers and the public that an individual has mastered a body of knowledge and acquired skills in disaster preparedness, management, and response to promote positive outcomes in a disaster.
Who Should Apply
Professionals with the following expertise are needed:
• Disaster Behavioral Counseling
• Emergency Management
• Emergency Medical Services
• Physician Assistants
• Public Health
• Respiratory Therapy
• Social Work
Appointed content experts will assist in the development of an examination to validate that a practicing disaster professional meets predetermined standards.
Becoming an ANCC-appointed content expert is a great opportunity for individuals to make a difference in their profession and contribute to interprofessional collaborative practice among healthcare practitioners engaged in disaster preparedness, management, and response.
Selected content experts receive an official appointment letter and paid travel expenses for all meetings. Meetings are currently scheduled for January 7-9, 2015 and July 8-10, 2015 in Silver Spring, MD.
