Job Description & Requirements

Sonographer - Diagnostic

SITKA, ALASKA. START DATE: 9/9/2019 for 13 weeks. SHIFT: Primary Days, Some shared call/discussed at interview. REQUIRED SKILLS: 2+ years of experience. Perform ultrasound and radiographic exams including echocardiogram, stress echoes, OB/GYN, abdominal, pelvic and limited vascular ultrasounds; diagnostic x-ray examinations; and bone density exams. Assist with special techniques and fluoroscopic procedures. Works with providers and radiologists to ensure patients are receiving proper exams and to prioritize exams in order of need. Schedules, files, records and performs other office functions to improve department efficiency. Responsible for diagnostic imaging in ultrasound and radiography, works independently in performing these exams. Collaborate with radiologists, providers and other technologists to improve patient care while understanding that lack of communication can adversely affect patient health. Provides call services and occasional weekend shifts. Requires travel to remote communities in Alaska. Works with SEARHC staff to create a strong team environment. Provides on-call services on a rotational basis as needed or requested.
