5 Reasons to Look at Arizona for Your Allied Travel Career

Allied health travel jobs create an opportunity to see the country as you work. If you like to stay on the move but you're on the fence about your next destination, Arizona has something to offer every personality.

To get an idea of the kinds of adventures that await you, here are five reasons Arizona is the place to be for allied health professionals.

1. Explore the Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is included in the Wonders of the World and is a must-see for anyone spending time in Arizona. This 277-mile canyon is more than a mile deep and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the state.

The elevation change is so extreme that the Grand Canyon is known for creating its own weather patterns. Tours are offered in a variety of ways, including hiking, rafting down the Colorado River, by mule around the rim and by air in a helicopter or airplane.

Whether you choose to skirt the edge of the steep cliffs or explore the canyon base, every part of this national park has something unique to offer.

2. Learn the history of native First Nation tribes
Before America was colonized, Arizona was originally home to several First Nation tribes, including the Tonto Apache Tribe, Tohono O'odham Nation, Hopi Tribe, Navajo Nation and Zuni Pueblo. In fact, the name "Arizona" came from the Tohono-O'odham word for "little spring."

Today, some of the 22 remaining tribes welcome visitors onto their lands and are happy to share their culture and history with those willing to learn. Immerse yourself in one of the interactive museums or spend a day at one of the tribe festivals to enjoy the songs and dances of tribal ancestors.

3. Catch a game in almost any sport
Arizona is one of a few states that has a professional team in almost every major sport. Football fans can catch an Arizona Cardinals game, baseball fans can see the Diamondbacks, hockey lovers can cheer on the Coyotes and basketball enthusiasts can see the NBA Suns or the WNBA Mercury play in Phoenix.

Arizona also has a robust college rivalry between the Sun Devils and the Wildcats, along with the Phoenix International Raceway for NASCAR fans. Whatever your sport of choice, Arizona has you covered.

4. Enjoy a varied climate
Arizona's arid desert climate ensures residents enjoy the sun year-round in many areas. Rainfall can vary greatly, depending on what part of the state you're in, with Yuma seeing just 3 inches annually, and the White Mountains receiving as much as 40 inches.

Snow, however, is generally limited to the higher altitudes with average winter daytime temperatures often remaining above 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Those who prefer a cooler climate can spend some time at one of the four ski resorts during the winter months. If you love the summer heat, it's not uncommon to see Arizona temperatures as high as 105 to 115 degrees during the hottest months.

5. Find your adventure
If fresh air and scenic landscapes sound refreshing, Arizona has a variety of breathtaking scenery and outdoor adventures to choose from. Stretch your legs on a marked hiking trail, swim or boat in one of the many lakes and rivers, camp in a beautifully maintained state park or sign up for one of the many guided canyon tours.

If you're looking for something a little more unique, reserve a spot on a hot air balloon or the Verde Canyon Railroad for views you won't get anywhere else. Get your adrenaline pumping at Six Flags in Phoenix, or you might even strike it rich on a prospecting adventure in the Arizona hills. Boredom is not a word most Arizona residents understand.

Allied health professionals work hard and deserve the opportunity to make the most of their off hours. If you choose to search for allied health travel jobs in Arizona, there's no limit to the variety of experiences available to you.
